I joined Koa in May 2024, having never raced further than a sprint distance triathlon. I didn’t own half the gear I needed, and the idea of an Ironman felt completely out of reach. With smart guidance from my coach I bought the right equipment, started following achievable and easy-to-understand training, and simply got to work.
In 2025 I lined up for my first full Ironman — and somehow qualified for Kona, the Ironman World Championship. I still struggle to believe that actually happened. Then in 2026 I raced Ironman New Zealand and qualified again. That second ticket felt different. It wasn’t luck. It was proof that I belong at a high age-group level.
Koa gets the best out of me. The coaching is clear, the plans are realistic, and the support is consistent. What started as a nervous step into longer distance racing has turned into back-to-back World Championship qualifications in just two years.
I’m still the same athlete who once thought a sprint was the limit. The difference is having the right people and the right structure behind me.
