I joined Koa in June 2024 with a dream that had been sitting in the back of my mind for years. I had never raced a 70.3 or an Ironman. I didn’t even know where to start. All I knew was that I watched Kona every year and thought, “One day.”
Eighteen months later I crossed the finish line at Ironman Busselton in under 10 hours. That still doesn’t feel real.
What I love most about this sport isn’t just the racing. It’s the lifestyle – the early mornings, the long rides, the quiet satisfaction of showing up when it’s hard. Koa helped me turn that lifestyle into something structured and progressive. The coaching gave me direction when I had none, and the community made the journey feel possible instead of overwhelming.
Finishing Busselton in under 10 hours completely reshaped what I believe is possible for me. The goal that once felt distant now sits clearly in view. I’m training hard, staying consistent, and working toward the day I get to race in Kona.
For anyone who’s been watching from the sidelines, wondering if they could ever do it — this is proof that the right support can close that gap faster than you think.
