From Beginner to IRONMAN World Championship Qualifier
Every day and every month I believe in myself a little but more, over 3 + years that really adds up.
Joining Koa Sports has been one of the best things I have done in my life, let alone in sport. When I first joined in June 2023 I knew almost nothing about triathlon. Everything felt new and a little overwhelming, but the process of learning and improving has been steady and, at the same time, surprisingly steep.
Fast forward to June 2026 and the results speak for themselves. I became an Age Group Champion at IRONMAN 70.3 Cairns 2026 and earned a World Championship qualification after finishing in 10:30 at IRONMAN Busselton, standing on the podium. Those moments still feel almost unreal when I look back at where I started.
The training is hard sometimes — there is no way around that. But what makes the difference is having a coach who truly listens. When things need adjusting, whether because of fatigue, life stress, or simply how my body is responding, the plan changes. That flexibility and support have allowed me to keep progressing without burning out.
I am grateful every day for the guidance, the belief, and the community that have helped turn someone who once knew almost nothing about this sport into an Age Group Champion and World Championship qualifier.
